Colonel Sandford Artman 8-9 PM

Colonel Sanford P. Artman, 26 yrs in Army.  Chief of Staff US Army Recruiting Command.  A ROTC graduate from Marion Military Institute, Marion Alabama and The US Army War College, COL Artman has deployed in support of the Persian Gulf War, 1991 and OIF/OEF in 2007 and 2008. Sandy is the youngest of 5 siblings and the last Artman officer still serving.  The Artman clan has military roots that date back to the American Revolution.

  • Is Independence important and why?
  • How would you define patriotism.  What does patriotism mean to me?  Why is it important?
  • Why are soldiers re-enlisting if we are “supposed” to be done with the war soon?
  • What is the recruiting process in the army? (CAN ONLY TALK ABOUT THE BASIC PROCESS, NO SPECIFICS)
  • Are there any times during the year when more soldiers re-enlist?  What are they?  Why do you think this is?
  • Do servicemen and women have any traditions that they do to celebrate july 4th?
