Susan J. Elliott is a grief counselor, therapist, motivational speaker, media expert and attorney who lives in New York.

She is the author of “Getting Past Your Breakup: How To Turn A Devastating Loss Into The Best Thing That Ever Happened To You” (Da Capo 2009). It received great reviews, including being voted the Best Breakup Book of 2009 by About.com

She is the creator of the GPYB blog, seminar series and workshops. She has been quoted, as a relationship expert, in a wide-variety of media locally (NYC), nationally and internationally.

Her new book, Getting Back Out There: Secrets to Successful Dating and Finding Real Love After the Big Breakup was released January 2015.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Mount Holyoke College where she graduated magna cum laude with High Honors and Phi Beta Kappa.  She holds a Master of Education in Counseling Psychology from Cambridge College.  She holds a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley.

She is certified as a grief counselor through the Grief Recovery Institute in Los Angeles, CA.
