Tonight’s guest is Dr. Sarah Shelton.  Our topic is child abuse.

Dr. Sarah Shelton is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist from Paducah, Kentucky.  Dr. Shelton is a native of Western Kentucky. She earned a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology from Murray State University, a Masters of Public Health degree from the Medical College of Georgia, and a Doctoral degree in Clinical Health Psychology from Spalding University in Louisville. She completed her internship at the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine where she was appointed Chief Intern. She completed two additional years of training as a Postdoctoral Fellow of Medical Psychology and Behavioral Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia where she then became Faculty in the Dept. of Psychiatry & Health Behaviors and the Dept. of Pediatrics as well as Director of Pediatric Psychology Services at their Children’s Medical Center. She also acquired specialty training in Forensics at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology where is now faculty, earning the Faculty of the Year award in 2011.
Dr. Shelton is licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. She also held licenses in Georgia and South Carolina and practiced in all three states before returning to Kentucky on a full time basis. She is Co-Founder of Psychological Wellness Group in Paducah, Kentucky, where she provides assessment and treatment for the full spectrum of mental health disorders for patients of all ages. She is an active member of the Kentucky Psychological Association, serving on several committees including a Chair position. Dr. Shelton has authored multiple journal articles and book chapters and is frequently published in the popular press. She has presented her research, lectured, and trained other healthcare providers at the national and international level.
